A Friend's Encouragement
9/8/93
Wading through muddled thoughts,
I find many wasted things.
Times of stress and aggravation -
Unnecessary.
Times of lust and yearning -
Carelessly played.
There are a few treasures though,
Soft-hearted reminders.
Times of simplicity and patience -
Warming.
Times of love and friendship -
Fondly nurtured.
Life is too short to waste away on
careless things.
If we take the time to think about
How much things REALLY matter,
We will cut out many meaningless things.
And prosper from the extra time left,
To enjoy the treasures.
