Wings
11-8-90
Wings!
I have wings!
I can fly over the entire galaxy,
Soaring like a rocket,
Gliding
like a leaf
on a current
of crisp, fall air.
There are no limits.
Anything! Anywhere! Anytime!
Mine for the knowing.
I have ears!
to hear anything spoken,
Yelled in the street,
Whispered
into the heart
of two young lovers
on a park bench.
There is a wide range of sound.
Loud! Soft! Intense!
Mine for the knowing.
I have a voice!
I can speak to the nations of the world.
Sing to the infant
Gently
whisper
sweet words
of tenderness.
Such a form of expression.
Love... Hate... Fear...
Mine for the speaking.
