Diehards

8/16/95

They sit in the darkness

Whispering to each other.

Confiding deep desires and dreams,

sharing fantasies of days that may never come.

They pull each other further

into another world.

A world where their words run free,

Where the impossible is at hand.

These two catapult,

Vaulting over the barriers, the walls.

Leaping into a world of stars, moonlight,

and soft caresses to their deepest hearts.

The world left behind,

They speak so hushed that they

might be mistaken for a breeze in the ear.

A breeze of the coolest refreshment.

With a whispered adieu

They separate words from worlds.

The peace of the night engulfs them once more,

This time in slumbers of the memories they shared.

Future Daze

She waits - a million thoughts

running through her head.

She wonders - a million dreams

loom undetermined.

She hopes - a million to one

that she's doing the right thing.

She looks - a million words

and none of them spoken.

He waits - a million thoughts

running through his head.

He wonders - a million dreams

loom undetermined.

He hopes - a million to one

that he's doing the right thing.

He looks - a million words

and none of them spoken.

They go - a million thoughts

running through their heads.

They wonder - a million dreams

loom undetermined.

They hope - a million to one

that they're doing the right thing.

They look - a million words

they have left to be spoken.
