Leaping Into the Unknown

8/16/95

She sits and thinks about her life

All the if onlys,

All the if I could do it agains,

All the What ifs?

She tries not to wonder,

not to ask the questions that haunt her.

She tries to go on,

without looking back.

If these things hadn't happened,

She wouldn't be Here.

She wouldn't be who she is.

She wouldn't be her.

20/20 hindsight would be great to have beforehand.

To see where the decisions you make will take you.

To know the right thing before you try.

To never have doubts.

She looks down, realizing the same.

She has just asked, "what if?"

She has just said, "if only,"

And she has just said, "if I could do it again."

It is the eternal questions.

We ask ourselves, everyday,

As we go through life,

Knowing we can never have a second chance.
