Sweet Dreams

2-29-92

As I awake, I look at your face and gently

kiss your eyelids, your cheeks, your lips.

In response, you wake and hold me close to

your body.

Your warm hand caresses my arm;

I feel your breath becoming more relaxed.

You drift into sleep.

As I fall into a peaceful rest,

I can feel your heart pulsing in my ear.

The rising and falling of your chest makes me

sleepy.

"Sweet dreams," I whisper,

"Sweet dreams."
