Airport Arrival

3/3/95

He waits in the terminal, wondering what will happen. The seats are full of passengers waiting to leave, but all he can think about is the arrival. His mind recreates her face, and he smiles to himself. Will there be anything different this time? Will her eyes find him in this crowd? He moves closer to the exit ramp.

The flight lands and people begin milling around the exit, anticipating the anxious travelers moving up the rampway. He waits, and waits, but does not see her. He glances around quickly to see if he missed her, but when he glances back, he sees a denim dress coming up the ramp. As his heart races, he catches her eye. She smiles and runs up the ramp, and he swweps her into his arms, holding her close and smelling her perfume radiate from her. When finally the embrace stops, he looks down at her and smiles. She motions for him to bend down for her to whisper in his ear. "I love you Mark."

His face beams, and he kisses her and tells her he loves her too. He just knows his parents are going to like her. As they leave, with their hands clasped tightly together, they make plans for a future trip - a permanent one.
